Reactive Resolution Support Operative

About the role

The Reactive Resolution Support Operative provides proactive support to United Utilities' fleet and wastewater treatment teams. Working on shift transitions, you will ensure vehicles, equipment and stores are ready, safe and compliant, helping the Reactive Resolution Teams deliver first‑time resolutions for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles and emergency plant kits for defects and report them to the Drainage Delivery Manager.
• Prepare Cityflex van packs, emergency plant kits and other tools for rapid deployment.
• Carry out first‑line maintenance on vehicles, equipment and stores in line with training and relevant safety procedures.
• Calibrate and certify specialist equipment such as man‑entry gear and gas detectors.
• Maintain tidy, H&S‑compliant yard and changing areas.
• Manage store access, record stock levels and raise orders through the Drainage Support Officer.
• Audit vehicle cleanliness and safety standards before they leave the yard.

Required profile

• Experience working in a utilities, infrastructure or logistics environment.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements for vehicle and equipment handling.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and record defects accurately.
