Reception Class Teacher (Maternity Cover) – Full‑Time

About the role

We are seeking a passionate EYFS teacher to join a well‑established primary school in Potters Bar on a full‑time, fixed‑term maternity cover starting September 2026. The role offers the chance to shape the early learning experiences of Reception children in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the EYFS Framework.
• Create a safe, inclusive classroom where every child can thrive.
• Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
• Build strong relationships with parents, carers and colleagues.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Recent experience teaching within the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Sound understanding of child development and the EYFS curriculum.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• A nurturing, child‑centred approach to teaching.
