Reception Teacher – Full‑time (Islington)

About the role

A friendly, community‑driven primary school in Islington is looking for an experienced Reception Teacher to join its Early Years team from September 2026. The role is full‑time, Monday to Friday, and focuses on delivering high‑quality EYFS education and supporting pupils as they transition into Year 1.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons aligned with the EYFS framework.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
• Support early literacy, numeracy and communication development, including high‑quality phonics sessions.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress and differentiate learning for SEND and EAL students.
• Promote pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Collaborate with parents, carers and staff to ensure smooth transitions into KS1.

Required profile

• Hold a UK QTS (early career teachers will not be considered).
• Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the EYFS framework.
• Confidence in delivering phonics and early reading instruction.
• Strong behaviour management and assessment capabilities.
• Passion for early development and inclusive education.
