Reception Teacher – Maternity Cover (Full‑time)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Reception Teacher to join a thriving primary school in Wigan on a full‑time maternity cover for the academic year starting September 2026. You will become part of an experienced Early Years team delivering high‑quality education and care for children aged 4‑5.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging Reception lessons in line with the EYFS framework.
• Assess pupil progress, produce reports and maintain accurate records.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of the Early Years provision.
• Collaborate with colleagues and senior leaders to ensure consistent standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience teaching in a Reception setting.
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Passion for early childhood education and helping children reach their potential.
• High expectations for achievement and behaviour.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.
• Team‑oriented mindset and willingness to work collaboratively.
