Reception Teacher – Maternity Cover

About the role

A highly successful primary school in North Wigan is looking for an enthusiastic Reception Teacher to cover a maternity leave for the full academic year starting September 2026. You will join an experienced Early Years team and work in a well‑resourced environment committed to high standards of education and care.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess Reception lessons in line with the EYFS framework.
• Maintain accurate records, produce assessments and reports.
• Contribute to the development and success of the Early Years provision.
• Collaborate with colleagues and leaders to support pupils’ progress.

Required profile

• Proven experience teaching Reception classes.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS Framework.
• Passion for early childhood education and high expectations for achievement and behaviour.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.
• Team‑oriented and collaborative mindset.
