Reception Teacher – Primary School (Barnet)

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with established primary schools in Barnet to place a dedicated Reception Teacher for September 2026. The role can be taken on a full‑time or part‑time basis, delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum in a vibrant, child‑centred environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess EYFS learning objectives, balancing structured teaching with purposeful child‑led play.
• Focus on phonics, early reading, mathematics and personal development to meet statutory targets.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, the SENCO and other staff to support pupils with SEND and EAL needs.
• Maintain up‑to‑date safeguarding and child protection records.
• Use the EYFS framework and Development Matters to monitor and report each child’s progress.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
• Proven experience in EYFS, preferably in Reception or Nursery.
• Strong knowledge of systematic synthetic phonics and early reading approaches.
• Confidence delivering the EYFS framework with a blend of child‑led and structured learning.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND and EAL.
• Current safeguarding and child protection training.
