Reception Teacher – Primary School (Full‑time/Part‑time)

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with established primary schools in Harrow to place a dedicated Reception Teacher for the September 2026 intake. The role can be taken on a full‑time or part‑time basis, offering a rewarding start to the formal schooling journey for young children.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, balancing structured teaching with purposeful child‑led play.
• Focus on phonics, early reading, mathematics and personal development.
• Plan, observe and assess each child's progress using the EYFS framework and Development Matters.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and the SENCO to support pupils with SEND and EAL needs.
• Maintain up‑to‑date safeguarding and child protection practices.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
• Proven experience in EYFS, preferably in Reception or Nursery.
• Strong knowledge of systematic synthetic phonics and early reading approaches.
• Confidence delivering the EYFS framework with a blend of child‑led and structured learning.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND and EAL.
• Current safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
