Reception Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a caring Reception Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Tower Hamlets. The role starts in September and is full‑time, supporting the class teacher in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging EYFS activities.
• Work with pupils individually and in small groups to develop communication, social and academic skills.
• Support children’s learning through play and hands‑on activities.
• Create and maintain a safe, nurturing and stimulating classroom environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide additional support where needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Early Years or reception setting.
• Passion for supporting young children at the start of their education.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
• Patience, reliability and a collaborative attitude.
