Reception (Year R) Teacher – Fixed‑Term (1 Year)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and nurturing Reception (Year R) Teacher to join our friendly primary school in Chatham. This full‑time, one‑year fixed‑term role starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to make a lasting impact on children’s early learning journey.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the EYFS framework.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Support pupils’ personal, social and emotional development.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and staff.
• Monitor, assess and celebrate each child’s progress.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school community.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum.
• Passion for early years education.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Creative, reflective and committed to achieving the best outcomes for every child.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
