Receptionist / Student & Visitor Services Officer

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Receptionist and Student & Visitor Services Officer to be the first point of contact for visitors, students, parents and external partners at our school in Kingston upon Thames. The role combines front‑desk duties with administrative support and occasional first‑aider responsibilities during morning hours.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and sign‑in visitors, students and parents while following safeguarding procedures.
• Answer telephone calls and manage email enquiries, directing them to the appropriate department.
• Maintain daily registers, pupil attendance records and staff files.
• Provide administrative assistance for events such as Open Day and Prize Day.
• Act as the primary first aider during designated morning periods.
• Undertake additional tasks as requested by management, ensuring professional standards.

Required profile

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to stay calm under pressure.
• Experience in a customer‑facing role; experience in an educational setting is a plus.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with school Management Information Systems such as iSAMS or SIMS (desirable).
