Receptionist/Administrator for Busy GP Practice

About the role

We are seeking a friendly and motivated Receptionist/Administrator to join our busy GP practice in Edinburgh. The role offers both full‑time and part‑time options, with a flexible weekly hour total, but a Monday‑to‑Friday schedule is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Front‑desk duties including greeting patients and handling telephone enquiries.
• Prescription administration and processing of medical reports.
• Summarising patient records, audio typing and managing document workflow.
• Using Vision and Docman systems to maintain accurate patient information.
• Providing general administrative support to GPs and the clinical team.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a General Practice or similar healthcare admin environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced setting.
• Enthusiastic, forward‑thinking and highly motivated.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Vision software.
• Proficiency with Docman software.
