Recovery Worker

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Recovery Worker to join a leading substance‑misuse service in London (W9 2JD). You will work within a multidisciplinary team to support individuals affected by drug and alcohol misuse, helping them achieve sustainable recovery and improve their wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of clients with substance‑misuse needs, conducting comprehensive assessments and risk evaluations.
• Develop and review personalised recovery plans and deliver one‑to‑one key‑work sessions.
• Provide harm‑reduction advice, promote safer practices and support access to health, housing, employment and education services.
• Collaborate with partner agencies such as healthcare providers, probation services, housing organisations and social services.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with safeguarding and organisational policies.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Recovery Worker, Substance Misuse Worker, Drug & Alcohol Worker or a similar role.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload and complete assessments.
• Knowledge of substance misuse, harm reduction, safeguarding and recovery‑focused practice.
• Strong communication, organisational and relationship‑building skills.
• Relevant qualification in Health & Social Care, Substance Misuse or a related field (desirable).
