Recruitment Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Volunteer Coordinator to join our People team. In this permanent, full‑time position you will manage the complete volunteer journey, ensuring volunteers feel valued, supported and empowered to make a real difference.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full volunteer lifecycle – attraction, recruitment, onboarding, training, engagement and recognition.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, providing advice and guidance.
• Collaborate with managers to identify volunteer opportunities and support effective volunteer management.
• Develop initiatives to increase diversity and reduce barriers to volunteering.
• Build relationships with community groups, educational organisations and local networks.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records, compliance documentation and GDPR‑aligned reporting.
• Coordinate volunteer communications, events, recognition programmes and development opportunities.
• Monitor and analyse recruitment, retention and diversity metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Support the Head of People in developing and implementing volunteering strategies.
• Assist the wider HR and Recruitment team when required.

Required profile

• Experience coordinating or managing employee/volunteer lifecycle.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Proven experience reviewing and improving processes.
• Ability to coach, support and influence managers and colleagues.
• Proactive, solution‑focused attitude.
