Regional Communications Manager (Part‑Time) – Scotland

About the role

As a part‑time Regional Communications Manager you will support and develop a network of volunteer communications officers across 20‑25 RNLI lifeboat stations in Scotland. Working from home in central or northern Scotland, you will travel across the region to deliver training, guidance and support for local news, video and social‑media content.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train and mentor Lifeboat Press Officers and Social Media Officers.
• Provide resources and advice to produce local news stories, videos and engaging social‑media posts.
• Assist in planning and delivering fundraising and water‑safety PR campaigns.
• Help protect and enhance the RNLI’s reputation through effective communications.
• Participate in an out‑of‑hours press‑officer rota, including scheduled weekend and evening duties.
• Travel throughout Scotland and work independently to prioritise tasks.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of volunteer needs and ability to work flexibly with them.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel across the Scottish region and be on‑call outside normal office hours.

• Salary £35,853 – £42,181 per annum pro rata.
