Regional Education Partner – English (Oxford)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Regional Education Partner (English) to join the School Effectiveness and Governance Service. Based in Oxford with hybrid working, you will support school improvement across the North Oxfordshire area, covering roughly 25 schools along the Bicester‑Banbury corridor.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and guidance to schools within the designated region.
• Work closely with headteachers and senior leaders to drive improvement and raise educational standards.
• Collaborate with the Service Manager to forecast service needs based on school data.
• Monitor school performance, identify priorities for intervention and ensure effective use of commissioned services.
• Maintain compliance with financial governance, procurement processes and value‑for‑money objectives.
• Build strong relationships with schools, academies, trusts and other key stakeholders.
• Support the Council’s education priorities and improvement strategies.

Required profile

• Significant experience in educational leadership and school improvement.
• Deep knowledge of the English education system and current policy priorities.
• Proven ability to influence, challenge and support senior school leaders.
• Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships.
• Strong strategic, analytical and financial management capabilities.
• Commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
