Regional Policy Manager

About the role

The Institute of Chartered Accountants England & Wales (ICAEW) is seeking a Regional Policy Manager to shape its influence across the UK’s devolved administrations. This permanent, remote‑first position offers the chance to work at the intersection of finance, public policy and stakeholder engagement, supporting ICAEW’s 2030 Strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Build and nurture relationships with metro mayors, combined authorities and devolved governments in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
• Represent ICAEW at regional events, roundtables and meetings, positioning the institute as a trusted voice on economic and business policy.
• Monitor regional policy developments, produce insights and briefings for national advocacy.
• Draft policy briefings, consultation responses and communications in collaboration with internal teams.
• Identify opportunities to expand ICAEW’s regional influence by engaging members, business groups and policymakers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in public affairs, policy or stakeholder engagement, preferably within regional or devolved government.
• Strong understanding of UK devolved administrations and mayoral combined authorities.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior political, government and business stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing briefings, reports and presentations.
• High political awareness, sound judgement and capacity to manage complex, sensitive relationships.
