Registered Home Manager – Residential Children’s Home

About the role

The Registered Home Manager leads a residential children’s home in Edinburgh, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment where young people can thrive. This senior position combines strategic oversight with day‑to‑day operational management.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the home’s daily operations, maintaining high standards of child‑centred, trauma‑informed care.
• Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies, ensuring compliance with Care Inspectorate and SSSC regulations.
• Lead, coach, and develop staff through supervision, training and performance management.
• Manage staffing rotas, budgets, resources and procurement efficiently.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, regulatory bodies and partner agencies.

Required profile

• Compassionate leader with proven ability to build strong, accountable teams.
• Commitment to maintaining high care standards and fostering a positive culture.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.

Required skills

• SVQ Level 4 / SCQF Level 9 in Children and Young People (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years’ management experience and 5 years in residential childcare.
• Experience supervising staff in a residential care setting.
• Full UK driving licence.
