Registered Manager - Children's Home

About the role

As the Registered Manager of an 8‑bed children’s home in Burford, you will lead a dedicated team to provide a safe, supportive environment for young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will ensure high standards of care, compliance with Ofsted, and promote positive outcomes for each resident.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the residential home, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
• Lead, coach and develop staff, fostering a motivated and secure team.
• Manage admissions, referrals and discharge processes in line with organisational policies.
• Maintain Ofsted compliance, prepare reports and implement improvement plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals, including psychologists and occupational therapists, to deliver holistic care.
• Handle on‑call duties and weekend coverage as required.

Required profile

• Relevant qualifications and experience in residential children’s care or similar settings.
• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
• Ability to work under pressure and make informed decisions.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and care standards.
• Experience with multi‑disciplinary team coordination.
• Effective communication and record‑keeping.
