Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to open and lead a new 5‑bed residential home for children aged 8‑17 in Lewisham, South East London. The service will provide specialist care for young people with SEND, emotional, behavioural and complex needs, operating under Ofsted regulation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide trauma‑informed leadership to staff and young people, creating a safe, supportive environment.
• Recruit, induct, train and retain a high‑quality team, overseeing supervisions, appraisals and professional development.
• Maintain compliance with Ofsted, Children’s Homes Regulations and the home’s Statement of Purpose.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, managing disclosures and safeguarding incidents.
• Develop and monitor strategic plans, budgets, audits and inspection processes.
• Build effective partnerships with families, external agencies and professionals.

Required profile

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in residential childcare, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Children’s Home Regulations and therapeutic care.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and leadership abilities.
• Full UK driving licence (desirable) and willingness to join an on‑call rota.
