Registered Manager – Extra Care (Bedford)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead four Extra Care schemes in Bedford, supporting around 90 adults aged 55 and over. The role focuses on delivering safe, person‑centred care that promotes independence and quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of four Extra Care services.
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of coordinators, supervisors and care staff.
• Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and internal policies.
• Drive continuous improvement through quality audits and investigations.
• Manage recruitment, induction, training, supervision and performance management.
• Build strong relationships with residents, families, commissioners and healthcare professionals.
• Allocate resources effectively to maintain high‑quality, safe services.
• Participate in the on‑call rota as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Registered Manager in adult social care or a senior care coordination role.
• Stable employment history demonstrating reliability.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Calm, organised approach, especially under pressure.
• Compassionate, approachable leadership style.
• Good knowledge of person‑centred care, safeguarding and CQC standards.
• Full UK driving licence.
