Registered Nurse – Night Shift

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to work night shifts at our Westview Lodge care home in Hexham. The role involves delivering high‑quality nursing care to residents, ensuring their health and wellbeing throughout the night.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in line with each resident’s care plan and NMC guidelines.
• Administer prescribed medication, dressings, catheterisations, tube feedings and other clinical interventions.
• Monitor residents’ health status, conduct regular checks and report any concerns to the senior staff.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date care records and ensure bi‑annual review of individual care plans.
• Collaborate with junior care staff to promote a safe, homely environment.
• Liaise with GPs, health and social care professionals to coordinate holistic care.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (NMC‑registered) with the right to work in the UK.
• Experience in residential or care‑home nursing, preferably night shift.
• Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.
• Strong communication skills for hand‑overs and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Required skills

• Medication administration.
• Wound dressing and basic wound care.
• Catheterisation and tube feeding procedures.
• Management of chronic medical conditions.
• Care plan assessment and documentation.
