Registered Nurse – Pre‑assessment (Band 5)

About the role

Spire Clare Park is seeking a motivated Staff Nurse to join its Pre‑Assessment unit on a full‑time basis. You will work alongside an experienced team, assessing patients before surgery and supporting their journey through a modern, supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' health and wellbeing across a complex, changing caseload.
• Undertake electronic pre‑operative assessments and triage requirements.
• Identify and escalate patients of concern according to admission criteria.
• Deliver care that meets individual health and wellbeing needs.
• Provide and receive complex, sensitive information.
• Promote best practice in health and safety and support service development.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with no practice restrictions.
• Previous experience in Pre‑Assessment is essential.
• Ability to work in teams with minimal supervision in an acute environment.
• Advanced IT competence for electronic assessment systems.
• Willingness to train in phlebotomy, venepuncture and ECG if not already skilled.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Pre‑Operative Assessment Association course desirable.
