About the role

Northwood is seeking Registered Nurses to join its Halifax campus. You will provide person‑centered care in a dynamic, inclusive environment, collaborating with an interprofessional team to support residents in long‑term care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, person‑centered nursing care.
• Coordinate and implement care plans with the interprofessional team.
• Perform comprehensive client assessments and maintain accurate documentation.
• Address mental health and social issues, advocate for clients, and promote healthy lifestyle choices.
• Respond to complaints, conduct incident investigations, and ensure corrective actions are documented.
• Maintain a safe environment for clients and staff.
• Record vital signs, monitor patient conditions, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Continuously update clinical skills and pursue learning opportunities.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse licensed in Nova Scotia.
• Minimum 6 months of related experience, preferably in long‑term care.
• Strong clinical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven problem‑solving, decision‑making, and supervisory skills.
• Consistent attendance and ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of proper body mechanics and initiative in patient care.
