Registered Nurse/Paramedic – Forensic Custody (Bank)

About the role

Mountain Healthcare is seeking experienced Registered Nurses and Paramedics to join its forensic custody team. You will work within police custody settings, providing autonomous clinical care to detainees with complex health needs. The role offers a varied, fast‑paced environment with training and development support.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct clinical and capacity assessments for detainees.
• Assess fitness for detention, interview, charge and release decisions.
• Manage acute presentations and respond to emergencies.
• Provide injury assessment, evidential sample collection and maintain accurate clinical/legal records.
• Offer clinical advice to custody teams and partner agencies.
• Support detainee care both in custody and on release.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse or Paramedic qualification.
• Minimum 3 years post‑registration experience in acute or urgent care.
• Ability to work autonomously in a high‑pressure environment.
• Strong clinical judgement and professionalism.
