Regulatory Assurance Manager

About the role

Join the Regulatory Assurance team at a pivotal moment for the NMC, working across the organisation to strengthen regulatory performance, improve readiness and build confidence with external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate regulatory assurance activity, ensuring reporting, submissions and evidence are accurate, timely and aligned to organisational priorities.
• Support the transition to new regulatory standards, helping colleagues embed requirements into everyday practice.
• Gather, analyse and quality‑assure complex information, turning it into clear reports, briefings and submissions.
• Coordinate responses to external recommendations, developing actions, monitoring progress and demonstrating improvement.
• Build strong relationships across the NMC, influencing and constructively challenging colleagues to provide meaningful evidence.
• Identify opportunities to improve assurance processes, strengthen organisational learning and enhance overall regulatory performance.

Required profile

• Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to influence outcomes at all levels.
• Experience leading or coordinating assurance, oversight, audit or regulatory reporting activity within a complex organisation.
• Excellent analytical skills, able to evaluate complex evidence, identify key issues and draw balanced conclusions.
• Outstanding written communication, distilling detailed information into concise reports and executive summaries.
• Strong judgement and political awareness, navigating sensitive issues and competing priorities.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and workstreams while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
