Relationship Manager - Branch/Business Banking

About the role

Sterling Williams is supporting an international bank in recruiting a Relationship Manager for its Baker Street office in London. The role focuses on driving profitable volume growth by delivering value‑added sales and service to commercial and SME customers, with a particular emphasis on high‑net‑worth and priority accounts and growing deposit balances.

Key responsibilities

• Target and manage an assigned portfolio of commercial credit customers, including new acquisition and existing relationship growth.
• Conduct customer networking, site visits and manage client appointments to deepen relationships.
• Provide Trade & FX referrals and Islamic banking (Sirat) solutions where appropriate.
• Achieve targeted account opening volumes and deposit growth for the branch.
• Negotiate client proposals for assets and deposits and submit them to internal credit and account‑opening teams.
• Disburse lending in line with branch targets and monitor early warning signs affecting portfolio health.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relationship‑management role within the banking sector.
• Relevant professional banking certificates and a record of continuing professional development.
• Strong product knowledge and understanding of regulatory environment, bank policies and procedures.
• Experience in managing client portfolios and delivering high‑quality customer service.
• Line‑management experience is considered beneficial.

What we offer

• Salary between £50,000 and £60,000 per annum.
