Reliability & Maintainability Engineer – Aviation

About the role

Leonardo UK is seeking a motivated aviation engineer to train as a Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineer. You will apply your maintenance knowledge to identify potential failures, assess their impact and help prevent them, supporting continuous improvement of helicopter platform performance.

Key responsibilities

• Influence helicopter design through reliability, maintainability and testability analysis.
• Create and maintain Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA) documentation.
• Create and maintain Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) documentation.
• Support design engineering, logistics modelling and prepare contracted deliverables for multiple helicopter programmes across their lifecycle.

Required profile

• Qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical or systems).
• Understanding of preventative and corrective maintenance practices.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to produce clear written reports.
• Self‑motivated, able to work effectively within an integrated team.
• Computing proficiency with MS Word and Excel; experience with MS Access is a plus.
• Experience in a defence‑related aerospace environment and an appreciation of safety and airworthiness are advantageous.
• Willingness to learn and develop new R&M skills.
