Relief Porter/Driver – Transport & Patient Services

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Relief Porter/Driver to join our team, providing essential transport and patient handling services across all shifts, including days, nights and weekends. The role supports the efficient delivery of goods, supplies and patient movements within NHS Scotland facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Drive NHS vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes to transport equipment, supplies and patients safely.
• Provide portering services, ensuring timely movement of patients between departments.
• Operate across all shift patterns, covering day, night and weekend requirements.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any maintenance issues.
• Comply with health and safety and infection control standards.

Required profile

• Valid UK driving licence appropriate for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
• Current PVG Scheme membership or willingness to obtain clearance.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
• Commitment to NHS values of equality, diversity and patient‑centred care.
