Relief Support Worker

About the role

Thera East is seeking a Relief Support Worker to join its inclusive team in Colchester. You will work on a relief basis, supporting adults with learning disabilities to achieve their personal goals and live independently.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal and emotional support tailored to each individual.
• Assist with developing new skills, managing daily routines and home organisation.
• Support leisure activities, employment pursuits, personal interests and travel.
• Deliver care both in the person’s home and within the community.
• Adapt support approaches to meet the unique needs of each service user.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self‑starter with high motivation and a desire to learn.
• Professional, articulate and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
