Religious Education Teacher – Secondary School (Leeds)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Religious Education Teacher to join a reputable secondary school in Leeds from September 2026. The role involves delivering engaging RE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5 for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality RE lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially Key Stage 5.
• Encourage students to explore religious beliefs, ethical issues, philosophical concepts and cultural perspectives.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Prepare students for GCSE Religious Studies examinations and support excellent outcomes.
• Contribute to the wider Humanities department and take part in enrichment activities, assemblies and events.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A degree in Religious Education, Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy or a related subject.
• Experience teaching RE/Religious Studies at secondary level in the UK.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.
