Remote Labor Attorney (Contract)

About the role

Mercor is seeking an experienced Labor Attorney to work remotely on a contract basis. You will help shape realistic workplace scenarios for AI training, ensuring high‑quality legal content across employment law topics.

Key responsibilities

• Design realistic workplace scenarios covering EEOC charges, severance, non‑compete drafting, harassment investigations, wage & hour analyses, NLRB matters, and employment policies.
• Write attorney‑level reference responses and grade AI‑generated answers against structured rubrics.
• Provide written feedback to improve model behavior and participate in onboarding office hours and calibration sessions.

Required profile

• 1–4 years of professional experience in employment/labor law (law firm, in‑house, government agency, or labor union).
• J.D. (U.S./Canada) or LL.B./LL.M. (U.K.) from an accredited law school.
• Active or inactive license to practice law in the U.S., Canada, or U.K.
• Strong experience with EEOC charge response, wage & hour analysis, severance and non‑compete drafting, harassment investigations, employee handbook drafting, NLRB proceedings, or collective bargaining.
• Excellent written communication and high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Familiarity with HRIS and case management tools.

What we offer

• Compensation ranging from $85 to $120 per hour.
