Remote UK Road Freight Operations Coordinator

About the role

The UK Road Freight Operations Coordinator will manage daily road freight transport operations across the United Kingdom from a remote setting. The role links drivers and clients, optimising routes, handling load assignments and ensuring timely deliveries while using dedicated logistics platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily road freight logistics and develop optimized route plans.
• Assign freight loads to drivers based on delivery requirements and vehicle availability.
• Manage transport bookings and freight exchanges on platforms such as Haulage Exchange.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers and clients, communicating schedules and operational updates.
• Monitor deliveries in real time, addressing any delays or issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate transport and delivery records in the Transport Management System (TMS).
• Collaborate with clients to update shipment statuses and resolve service concerns.
• Prepare periodic reports on transport activities, performance and challenges.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in UK logistics, freight dispatching and route planning.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with reliable internet connectivity.
• Strong organisational skills and proactive communication with drivers and clients.
• Prior experience as a UK Truck Dispatcher is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Haulage Exchange or equivalent freight exchange platforms.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Outlook email and Google Workspace applications.
• Familiarity with Transport Management Systems (TMS) for record keeping.
