Removals Assistant Warehouse Manager

About the role

Our client, a commercial removals and relocation specialist, is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager to run the day‑to‑day operations of their Surrey warehouse. You will coordinate drivers, oversee loading and unloading of vans, and ensure safe handling of all shipments.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with coordinators to resolve queries on received and released items, investigating any discrepancies.
• Drive company vehicles, including HGVs, to support warehouse activities.
• Complete warehouse instructions promptly and accurately.
• Induct and train new warehouse staff.
• File all relevant paperwork for each job.
• Identify and allocate appropriate storage areas to prevent damage.
• Highlight errors on incoming works such as missing labels or paperwork.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in the removals industry, preferably within warehouse operations.
• Excellent communication skills and a naturally organised approach.
• Ability to manage fluctuating workloads and adapt quickly.

Required skills

• Qualified forklift truck operation / licence holder.
• HGV driving capability.
