Rent Administrator – Hybrid (Middlesbrough)

About the role

We are seeking a Rent Administrator to support a housing organisation on a short‑term contract. The role is hybrid, requiring one day per week in the Middlesbrough office, and offers 30 hours per week at £21.49 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Process payments and reconcile Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and Supporting People income within agreed timescales.
• Raise rent debits across property groups and generate reports for system interfaces and financial close‑downs.
• Reconcile payment and transaction files against bank statements, ensuring accurate allocation to customer accounts.
• Investigate and resolve anomalies, including payments held in suspense accounts.
• Maintain accurate property and tenancy databases, including rent and stock updates.
• Support the wider team with rent accounting processes and system data integrity.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and financial controls.

Required profile

• Previous experience in rent accounting or income administration, preferably within social housing.
• Strong understanding of rent accounting, debit control and reconciliation processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
