Research Associate – Postdoctoral Position in Nonlinear PDEs

About the role

The University of Bath offers two two‑year postdoctoral research positions focused on nonlinear partial differential equations. Successful candidates will investigate singularity formation and singular limits in fluids and other nonlinear evolution problems.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent research on singularity formation and related fluid dynamics topics.
• Develop and analyse mathematical models for singular limits in nonlinear evolution equations.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences.
• Collaborate with faculty members and contribute to the research community.

Required profile

• PhD in mathematics (or near completion) with a strong background in analysis and nonlinear PDEs.
• Experience in areas such as fluid mechanics, geometric analysis, calculus of variations, dispersive equations, or singular perturbation problems.
