Research & Development Engineer – 3-6 Month Contract

About the role

Our client is looking for a motivated Research & Development Engineer to join their product development team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with some industry experience who wants to develop their skills within a supportive and innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of new products and product improvements.
• Create and update engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Support prototype builds, testing and validation activities.
• Use 3D CAD software to develop and modify product designs.
• Assist with selecting materials and manufacturing processes for new products.
• Help investigate technical issues and contribute to problem‑solving activities.
• Support the transfer of products into manufacturing.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 1‑3 years of engineering, product development or R&D experience.
• Basic understanding of 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (beneficial).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn.
• Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
