Research Engineer Intern – AI & Decision Intelligence

About the role

Bowleys Oversight is building a new category of residential property decision intelligence. As a Research Engineer Intern you will work directly with the founder to develop analytical and technical foundations that help landlords, investors and property owners make better decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build mathematical models for real‑world property decisions.
• Develop Python‑based tools and internal software.
• Analyse large property datasets to uncover patterns and opportunities.
• Build decision models for pricing, rental performance, investment and asset management.
• Experiment with AI and large language models to automate research and analysis.
• Create prototypes, dashboards and internal applications.
• Validate and improve models using real market data.
• Collaborate across engineering, data science and product development teams.

Required profile

• Currently studying or recently graduated in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Data Science or a related quantitative discipline.
• Strong programming ability, preferably in Python.
• Enjoy solving complex problems from first principles and translating ideas into working software.
• Curious, ambitious and quick to learn.
• Motivated to build products rather than maintain existing ones.
• Experience with AI, machine learning, optimisation, data engineering or full‑stack development is a plus.
