Research Scientist in MRI Physics Modelling

About the role
We are seeking a motivated Research Scientist to join the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Oxford. The role focuses on developing MRI physics‑based models that predict imaging phenotypes from quantitative data, supporting population‑level brain imaging research.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement biophysical models of tissue microstructure for MRI.
- Perform Bloch‑ and EPG‑based physics simulations and multi‑modal quantitative MRI analyses.
- Measure and analyse diffusion imaging data and other quantitative MRI metrics.
- Develop and optimise MRI acquisition protocols for neuro‑imaging studies.
- Collaborate with international partners and contribute to grant proposals.
- Represent the OxCIN physics group at conferences and in publications.
Required profile
- PhD in MRI physics, engineering, biomedical engineering or a related discipline.
- Post‑doctoral experience in MRI research, preferably with a focus on neuro‑imaging.
- Proven ability to work independently and lead research projects.
- Strong publication record in quantitative MRI or biophysical modelling.
