Researcher – Critical Digital Education

About the role
The Department of Education at the University of Oxford is seeking a part‑time researcher to join the Critical Digital Education Research Group. You will work closely with Professor Jeremy Knox to develop grant‑funded projects at the intersection of education, artificial intelligence, teaching, and inclusion.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and submit research grant applications aligned with digital education and AI.
- Conduct literature reviews, synthesize findings, and design research methodologies.
- Manage small‑scale projects, coordinate timelines, and oversee budgets.
- Produce research outputs such as journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers.
- Provide advice to team members on proposal scoping and impact activities.
Required profile
- PhD/DPhil in a relevant discipline with expertise in critical digital education.
- Proven experience in developing research grant applications.
- Strong ability to manage independent academic research and related administrative tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What we offer
- Part‑time (0.4 FTE) fixed‑term contract until 31 December 2026.
- Competitive salary pro‑rata (£39,424 – £47,779 per annum).
