Resident Doctor – 24/7 On‑Site Fellow (London Private Hospital)

About the role

The Resident Fellow provides 24/7 on‑site medical support to consultants, clinicians and nursing staff in a leading London private hospital. You will join a team of three Resident Fellows to cover all non‑cancer, non‑haematology patients, ensuring high‑quality care around the clock.

Key responsibilities

• Carry the resuscitation bleep and radio, leading cardiac arrest calls (except in ITU where the ITU fellow leads unless intubation is required).
• Conduct regular ward rounds to support non‑resident fellows and review unwell patients.
• Respond to calls from Endoscopy, Day Surgery, MITU and main recovery for patient review.
• Assess patients after hours, trigger emergency escalation (2222) and manage NEWS > 3 alerts.
• Clerk and admit emergency admissions, documenting history, presenting complaint, systems assessment, drugs, allergies and safeguarding concerns.
• Liaise directly with admitting consultants to facilitate investigations and management plans.
• Request urgent investigations (CT, MRI, X‑ray, blood tests) as needed.

Required profile

• Available for 24/7 on‑site shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Able to carry and respond to the resuscitation bleep and radio.
• Comfortable leading cardiac arrest teams and escalating care promptly.

Required skills

• Resuscitation and cardiac arrest management.
• Use of NEWS scoring to identify deteriorating patients.

What we offer

• Competitive hourly rate of £38.80 – £50.
