Resident Engagement Officer

About the role

The Resident Engagement Officer will lead a responsive and dynamic engagement function across social housing properties in Barking. Working closely with tenants and residents, the role ensures that services align with the Regulator of Social Housing’s Transparency, Influence and Accountability Standard.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule, organise and deliver programmes, events and campaigns that raise awareness, consult on policy changes and gather resident feedback.
• Lead all logistical arrangements for engagement activities and support the formation and effective operation of Tenants and Residents Associations.
• Coordinate the Tenants’ Scrutiny Panel, managing agendas, attendance and feedback collection.
• Collaborate with tenants and residents to plan community events and maintain accurate records of engagement activities.
• Ensure resident views are consistently captured, acted upon and used to shape high‑quality housing services.

Required profile

• Ability to deliver a resident‑focused engagement function in a social housing context.
• Strong organisational skills for planning events, managing panels and maintaining records.
• Experience working collaboratively with tenants, residents and housing partners.
