Resident Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Resident Engineer to join a leading materials handling business on a key customer site in Halewood. The role involves servicing, maintaining and repairing forklift trucks and a range of other material handling equipment to minimise downtime and ensure high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on forklift trucks, mobile plant machinery and other industrial vehicles.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults and carry out repairs on‑site.
• Maintain accurate service records and comply with health and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with the customer’s operations team to schedule work and minimise equipment downtime.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and share technical feedback.

Required profile

• Hands‑on servicing or maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
• Maintenance experience with forklift trucks, mobile plant machinery, HGVs or similar industrial vehicles.
• Practical knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Recognised engineering qualification.
• Full UK driving licence (desirable).
• Minimum Level 3 engineering qualification (desirable).
