Residential Child Care Worker

About the role

Pebbles Care is expanding its zero‑hour workforce to provide flexible, part‑time support for vulnerable children and young people in residential settings. You will work across several homes in the Auchterarder area, helping to keep young residents safe, supported and engaged.

Key responsibilities

• Safeguard children and young people, ensuring a safe environment at all times.
• Support education, cooking, cleaning and organise fun, therapeutic activities.
• Assist care teams across multiple homes, covering shifts as required.
• Participate in a full induction, shadow shifts and training on Therapeutic Parenting.
• Maintain regular communication about availability and commit to at least one shift every four weeks.

Required profile

• Highly responsible and accountable for child safeguarding.
• Desire to pursue further child‑care qualifications and training.
• Nurturing, patient and resilient nature to build non‑judgmental relationships.
• Active listener with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Creative approach to learning and recreational activities.
• Proficient IT skills and experience using Microsoft packages.
• Full, valid UK manual driver’s licence (company vehicles are manual).
