Residential Childcare Practitioner

About the role

We are seeking a Level 3 qualified Residential Practitioner to support children and young people in a new residential home on Jersey. The role focuses on promoting wellbeing, safety and positive outcomes while delivering therapeutic care.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, assess and review each young person’s goals related to wellbeing, health, education and behaviour, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Build positive relationships, establish clear structures and routines, and manage behaviour consistently, fairly and respectfully.
• Respond confidently to accidents, incidents and emergencies, making sound decisions to safeguard children.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of facilities and equipment, raising concerns when standards are not met.
• Deliver exceptional, therapeutic care in line with the Island’s “Putting Children First” pledge.

Required profile

• Level 3 qualification as a Residential Practitioner.
• Ability to support young people’s wellbeing, health, education and behavioural needs.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
• Capacity to work collaboratively within a residential team.
