Residential Childcare Worker

About the role

Join New Start as a Residential Childcare Worker in the Clubmoor area of Liverpool. You will be part of a dedicated team delivering safe, high‑quality residential care for vulnerable children and young people. The role involves a 37.5‑hour work week on a 2‑on‑4‑off pattern.

Key responsibilities

• Support young people in managing emotional and behavioural challenges.
• Promote self‑esteem and encourage personal development within a residential setting.
• Ensure children’s wishes and cultural backgrounds are respected in daily care decisions.
• Identify signs of distress or abuse and liaise with safeguarding professionals.
• Plan and deliver activities both within the home and the wider community.
• Assume responsibility for the service in the absence of the Registered Manager.

• Strong, outgoing personality with a genuine desire to improve young people’s lives.
• Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Respectful of diverse racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
• Alert to safeguarding concerns and able to act promptly.
