Residential Children Worker – Peak Lodge (The Willows)

About the role

As a Residential Children Worker at Peak Lodge – The Willows, you will join a small, dedicated team providing 24‑hour, person‑centred care for children in specialist services. The role blends therapeutic practice with everyday support, ensuring each young person’s physical, emotional and social development is nurtured.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver holistic care and safeguard the wellbeing of children living in the home.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to arrange additional services for children and families.
• Embed the therapeutic ethos of Derbyshire Residential Services throughout daily routines.
• Work shift patterns (early, late and sleep‑in) to provide continuous coverage.
• Maintain accurate records in line with legislative and policy requirements.

Required profile

• Openness to relationship‑focused, psychologically informed practice.
• Understanding of the Children Act, Quality Care Standards and Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
• Hold or be working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or an equivalent qualification.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Children Act, Quality Care Standards and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
