Residential Children’s Home Deputy Manager

About the role

Join an established residential care provider delivering live‑in support for children and young adults with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. The Deputy Manager will be based in a new children’s home in Wallasey, working a 2‑days‑on/4‑days‑off roster, supporting boys and girls aged 6‑16.

Key responsibilities

• Assist children with daily routines including breakfast, dressing, school drop‑offs, washing, meals and bedtime.
• Organise and manage staff rotas, ensuring adequate coverage at all times.
• Lead the support team, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to individual care plans.
• Support the Home Manager in the overall operation and administration of the home.
• Maintain accurate records and complete required paperwork.

Required profile

• Residence in or around Wallasey.
• Full UK driving licence (own vehicle preferred, house car available).
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce (essential).
• NVQ Level 5 or enrolment on the course (advantageous).
• Proven experience working within a residential child‑care framework.

• Hourly rate of £16.25 (Level 3) or £17.78 (Level 5).
