Residential Conveyancing Completions Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a Residential Conveyancing Completions Assistant to join our busy Residential Property team in Burgess Hill. The role supports the end‑to‑end completion process for residential transactions, including shared‑ownership sales, ensuring smooth hand‑over of funds and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue completion statements for each transaction.
• Request, verify and chase mortgage advance monies.
• Conduct pre‑completion checks to confirm all conditions are satisfied.
• Manage the completion day, overseeing the transfer and receipt of funds.
• Handle post‑completion duties such as SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications.
• Assist with shared‑ownership deals, liaising with housing associations and complying with scheme requirements.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, lenders, estate agents and solicitors.
• Keep accurate file records in line with firm procedures and risk‑management policies.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a residential conveyancing environment.
• Strong organisational ability and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven capacity to meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced completions setting.
• Clear, professional communication skills.
• Competent IT proficiency and familiarity with a case management system.
