Residential Night Care Officer

About the role
The Residential Night Care Officer provides 24‑hour supervision and support for young people living at Phoenix House Children’s Home in Bedlington. Working the night shift (8 pm‑6 am) you help create a safe, stable environment where children aged 6‑17 can thrive.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and look after up to three young residents during night hours.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, responding to any incidents or emergencies.
- Carry out night‑time routines, including medication administration and record‑keeping.
- Maintain accurate logs of activities, observations and any concerns.
- Collaborate with day‑time staff to ensure continuity of care.
Required profile
- Dynamic, dedicated and enthusiastic attitude.
- Commitment to the values of child‑centred residential care.
- Willingness to work unsociable hours, including weekends.
- Ability to work physically and handle challenging situations.

- Starting salary £25,583‑£25,989 per year plus Single Premium Rate for unsociable hours.
