About the role
Staffordshire County Council is seeking a dedicated Resilience Supervising Social Worker to join its countywide Fostering Service. Based at Staffordshire Place One, you will support foster carers delivering therapeutic, trauma‑informed care for children transitioning from residential settings to stable family‑based placements.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake regular supervision, support visits and unannounced visits to approved foster carers, focusing on Resilience carers and mainstream placements.
- Provide professional guidance and challenge to carers caring for children with complex needs.
- Coordinate, attend and chair monthly Resilience Meetings to monitor placement stability and progress.
- Organise and facilitate Resilience Support Groups for peer learning and support.
- Complete foster‑carer annual reviews, fostering assessments and placement planning in line with service requirements.
- Build strong working relationships with children’s social workers, education and health professionals, and other agencies.
- Promote the voice of the child in all planning and decision‑making processes.
Required profile
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Current UK driving licence and vehicle.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Desirable: experience working in a fostering role.
